What to do with S30v?

I just got a BM940 with the s30V plane edge. Benchmade didn't ship it very sharp at all (whatever) and I want to redo the edge. If this were a 154cm blade I'd put a Double bevel on it with a 30 degree back bevel and a 40 degree edge.
But with this s30 super steel I don't know what to do. Would doing the same Double bevel as the 154cm be a waste of the s30v toughness? What profile would be best for a EDC blade? I don't need super scary sharp but I'd prefer a shaving sharp edge that'll last a long time. Something capable of slicing seat-belts but wont wear out fast.
Thanks

Straight bevel at 15 deg, its a good balance point.

There is no reason you can't sharpen the knife as you would any other.

If comparing to 154cm, the edge of an S30V bladed knife should take longer to become dull.

Really, no secondary edge needed? I imagine that it'd be a super sharp cutter but would resharpening it be any more difficult?

As far as keeping it the same as my other blades, am I getting a real sharp edge with it?

I find around 15degrees to work very well too, if it's going to be used very hard I'd suggest the 20degree angle or 15degree bevel + 20degree microbevel.

S30V at 15degrees can get very sharp.

Its no harder to resharpen, at 15 per side you are still plenty tough with S30V. Using a more obtuse angle your not taking advantage of the steel and probably wouldn't see much of a difference it and VG-10.

Just so I get the angle thing straight..... 15 degrees means on each side right? So if you had 15 + 15 = 30 degree total angle? And would you phrase that 15 degree inclusive or would that be called 30 degree inclusive? I forget all those terms, and would like it clarified again. Thank you.

With a new knife I just go as thin as I dare, and if it chips it gets microbeveled. If it still chips, make it a tad thicker microbevel. And so on till it's happy.

Alright thanks guys, I think I'll try a plain 30 degree edge and see if it last long enough for me, if not I'll play with it.
Unless someone else has some better ideas for me.

I find 15 degrees per side excellent with S30V. and you can get S30V razxor blade sharp with a little effort.

+1. Unless I know it's gonna need a steeper angle for chopping use.
