I just finished a blade I made for MadDog2020, my first ever sale! Now I'm working on a small belt knife for my father and some ktichen knives to sell. Hopefully I'll be doen those kitchen blades in time for xmas!

Anyways, I have a piece of 1095 that is 1/8" thick, 1.5w long and about 10.5" long. What do you think I should turn it in to? A puuko design for the woods? A tanto? What? I've made a spear poing, an up swept point, and 3 dropped point blades now.

You could make a nice traditional Japanese style knife out of that 1095. If you make a tanto, do it with a traditional tip. It is my opimion that this style is way nicer than the Americanized version of the tanto tip.

Get us some pictures of this knife you just finished. Also, pictures of the knives you are working on would be nice to see as well. It would be nice to follow your progress as a knife maker.

Thanks KWM. I have some photos of the knives I have made at photopoint, but ever since they got bought my pics don't show up here! I don't want to pay for an account either. I think that I'm gonna get a gold memebrship (or a Makers Membership!) for myself as an xmas present so I can upload lots of pics.

i too like the traditional japanese styles. I could make a nice tanto styled blade out of this! Good idea.

By far, the most use I get out of any knife is in the kitchen. IMHO, if you want to make a knife for someone that will get used and appreciated, make them some kitchen cutlery!:)
