.... while waiting for my order to be delivered ?

*sigh*

I ordered my first blade from HI : an M-43 with a 19" OAL for that little extra ompfh with wood handle.

Going to be a long wait.

What do you guys do to pass time ? Looking at more pictures seems to make the waiting worse :)

best regards to all

Sounds like early onset of HIKV.. =\

I also am awaiting an M-43, along with a BAS that I'm getting from another forum member..

It's hard to wait, I was hoping for some monster Black Friday deals from Yangdu (blems or villagers please?), to stave off the cravings, but she probably did me and my relationship with my gf a favor by not..

I've been going thru the archives here, lots to read while you wait, and luckily/unfortunately, most of the pictures don't load anymore..

Compulsively check the forum every 30 seconds of the day to pass the time.

Waiting on an 18" chiruwa Tamang. It'll be worth it.

Heinously checking the forum every 30 mins during worktime? Checked.
Almost everything in your daily life reminded you of the khuk? Checked.
Realizing USPS isn't fast enough? Not really. Auntie has Stargate. From Reno- Penang across half the globe in 4 days? you gotta be kidding.:)

Cotherion will go nuts on this!

Hey, my first blade is an M-43 too. I ordered it to be as light as possible 26-27 Oz with a lanyard hole and wood handle. In the mean time I snapped up some of the DOTDs. The first was a lovely Tarwar and the last was a Deradhune. I had thought that I could appease my impatience by getting a knife in 3 days by snagging a DOTD. But alas KHIV kicked in and I have ordered quite a few blades - enough for a small collection. The M-43 will probably be the last for a while.

I have found it very therapeutic to re-finish the handles and sharpen them to hair poping sharp. I also started playing with etching the blades, to see the hamon and to pretty up the blade. I did a mustard etch on a Foxy Folley that turned out awsome (I will post pictures some day).

I just drool over the two on my computer desk plus the photos of every other poster's khukuris. The picture thread is fun.
Whenever friends call,
"What ya doing?"
"Drooling..." :D
"lemme guess, those boomerang blades right?"
"They're not thrown" :(
sighs "yeh yeh I know..."

No TV reception here, just internet for entertainment.

teclis22, gather wood "logs" big ones to make sure you have enough to "play" with when it arrives. Pint and 2 liter plastic bottles filled with water are also fun.
Nothing is more pitiful than having a beautiful new Khukuri and then running out of stuff to chop with it. It makes ornamental trees, telephone poles and unoccupied structures nervous:D

I too am wait for an order, 18" YCS chiruwa wooden handle. Luckily I have been very busy so it has not been a horrible wait. However in the last month I have picked up a couple of DOTD.

Please post pics of that when you get it... I'm curious whether it'll have the handle inlays like the pics on the site etc..

I've been interested in this model for a while.

Order when drunk, that way when it shows up you're surprised.

Going to be a long wait.

I would get off on the weekend with other khuk and try to chop as many wood as i can. It gets the adrenaline pumping as well as having one on your hand makes you feel SO GOOD.:D

That being said I'm waiting for surprises from Reno as well.

Time... oh time....

5 weeks have passed since the order. Alas no news yet . The images on the web here have helped me passed the time so far. Hopefully there will be a relieve soon.... *dreams*

Patience......

I'm told it's a good thing. I've tried it and I don't care for the stuff, I'd rather be chopping something.

I take it you special ordered 1, i made my 1st order last Friday (new years eve) for an 18" ASTK that was in stock & just having to wait a few days feel like forever

Yangdu contacted me that the parcel went to the post office yesterday (from the time of this writing).

Ohhh i hope international mail wont take too long. I am VERY curious on how things turn out. My first HIMIMP delivery is now offically enroute.
