What to get next!?

I have some money set aside for a new folder, but I can't decide what I want next. As of right now, I'm between the Native 5, ZT 0560, or Paramilitary 2. Any suggestions under $250 would be greatly appreciated!

well the native 5 and the para 2 are hard to come by at the moment so I would the ZT0560 they are amazing knives. the bearings are unbelievably smooth to open and the flipper is great. Elmax holds a nice edge and the titanium is really nicely milled. There is also countless custom scales for the ZT

I just got a 550 in the mail today. It fits my tiny hands surprisingly well. I'm sure the 560 would be much the same. I also have a PM 2 on the way

561, easy to find on the web for a reasonable price and simply astounding in its simplicity. May have a few minor issues with the clip or lock, but these are simple fixes and may even be absent from yours. Completely worth the money and effort to acquire.

I'd say a pm2 or 0560. I've had my pm2 for about 2 years now and love it. Comfortable, fairly light for its size and just fun to play with the compression I just received my 560 today it's a large knife, gimping is sharp at some points. It's smooth but it requires a little wrist motion to get the blade out with the flipper. Still a very nice blade though. Ill be carrying it over the next several days to get better impression of it.

On my wish list is a Spyderco Military and a Spyderco Manix 2 XL. Since Spyderco's are so hung up in production I am considering changing my desires to something else. Other than Spydercos I have an interest in a ZT 0200, ZT 0566, and maybe a Benchmade Contego. (Unfortunately it seems that the ZT 0566 is also hung up in production and as yet unavailable.)

As for the ones that you listed- the PMII might be the most useful on average, the 0561 is the most unique and interesting.

You'll wind up with all of them eventually ;)

For me it's a tough call between the Para2 and 560, which are both great knives. I have big hands and both fit well, but definitely consider the ZT 550 as well. I just got one and it's my favourite knife, even though the Para2 and 560 are awesome in their own right.

You can get both for a reasonable price on ebay. :D I really do want to try the Elmax steel, though...It's definitely a tough decision.

I'm not a huge fan of the 0550...Mostly because I have enough of the smaller blades. i.e. Kershaw Skyline, ZT 0350, and small Sebenza 21. All awesome small folders. It's time to get a reliable, larger blade. Great suggestion, though!

I have a 560 and a few PMII, I prefer the PMII..

I like the PMII's a lot, but I can just imagine the looks I'd get pulling out such an intimidating looking blade. ;) Why are the PMII's so popular?

How is the clip on the 0560 and 0561? I don't really like how much the clip sticks out...That's the main reason I haven't pulled the trigger on it...That and the beauty of the N5 and PMII's FFG.

No doubt about it, the 0560 has a huge blade. It's sexy, though. :D Do you have the S30V or S35VN on your PMII?

I love my Manix 2, beautiful blade. I'll have to look into the 0566. Thanks for the suggestion!

I may need to do some more research on the PMII. I hear nothing but good things about it.

You're right, I probably will haha. But I don't want to buy the 0560 and then find out that I should have spent the money elsewhere (like on the PMII) The only thing I don't like about the PMII is the blade to handle ratio. When the knife is open, the blade looks tiny compared to the handle...A slight turn off for me.

Unfortunately it seems that the ZT 0566 is also hung up in production and as yet unavailable.

I'd expect it to be released about the same time the Cryo II is released. They appear to share more than a coincidental number of features in common:

Kershaw Cryo II:

Overall Length: 7.75"
Blade Length: 3.25"
Blade Material: 8Cr13MoV (Stainless)
Opening Mechanism: Assisted Opening
Lock: Frame Lock
Closed Length: 4.50"
Handle Material: Stainless Steel
Clip: Stainless Steel
Weight: 5.38 oz.

ZT 0566:

Overall Length: 7.70"
Blade Length: 3.25"
Blade Material: Elmax (Stainless)
Opening Mechanism: Assisted Opening
Lock: Frame Lock
Closed Length: 4.45"
Handle Material: G10 and Stainless Steel
Liner(s): Stainless Steel
Clip: Stainless Steel
Weight: 5.3 ounces
