So my knife collecting has grown exponentially this past year or so. I was hovering around the $150-200 dollar knives for a while then out of nowhere I jumped into the realm of $300-600!! Yikes! I thought I would never pay that much for a knife. I just purchased a RHK XM-18 and absolutely love this beast! I also have a couple of CRK TOO !! Where is my next knife gonna come from and what price level will I be at next????

Taig micro lathe
10 HP variable frequency drive
Evenheat digital heat-treating oven

With that arsenal, you can make your own. Plus or minus various tools, calipers, micrometer, probes, face and shell mills....

Oh yes. The best part? You'll be on the hook for $50,000!

How long is the cutting edge compared to the rest of the knife? It looks short and out of proportion.

If you like beefy knives...
Custom: Pohan Leu, Hamachi - Slender but very stout at the same time. It aint cheap. But as far as customs go, it's a great value.
Mid-Tech: Les George VECP or Talos - Not as bulky as some, but can take a beating.
Also, not what I'd consider "beefy" but worth looking at. Steve Skiff is putting out some fantastic stuff in recent years. Similar to what Grimsmo does. Just WAY nicer (IMO)

Look around IG. Start with those 3 and see what gets suggested. You may be stunned at what you find.

Go on the Randall Made Knife web site. Spec out your idea of a perfect knife. A $50 deposit locks in today’s price. Then wait patiently for 5 years.

It will go by faster than you think.
