What to get?

Hi guys!
I'm pretty new to knives, only really known about them for a little over a year :) but I'm looking to get a knife for a good friend of mine, but I have no clue where to begin looking. There are so many knives! I know he has multiple Calypso Jr.'s and a Sage 2. He has a couple Kershaw and Benchmade knives but I can't remember what those ones are :o He told me when I asked him what one of the knives he wanted and he said the one at the top of his head is a Bradly Alias 2 with a damascus blade and a blue handle. Can you guys give me some suggestions based off of those kinda knives on what to get him? Any and all are welcome! *Also, he like 3" or less blade length.
 
I am really not into folders. So, my fixed blade suggestions are: ESSE Izula or Candiru. BK&T BK-11, BK-14 (highly recommend the handles for it & a TDI clip for the sheath.
 
We can narrow it down to: modern styling, 3" or shorter blade, pocket clip, one-handed opening, higher end blade steels. That still leaves a ton of options. What kind of price range are you looking at?
 
TwinStick, he doesn't like fixed blades. I know that much. G. Scott H., you pretty much narrowed it down =D I'm looking for something under $100, $150 MAX. I know he's been looking at Kershaw knives from someone named Kershawguy?
