what to get

I'm not thrilled with the way that the spec bump looks but it seems like a more practical handle overall... then again I'm super paranoid about sliding down the handle and onto the blade.
 
Spec bump all the way. The stud lock is as good as the axis/compression locks. The ergo's are perfect. Blade shape is just sick for cutting fibrous materials--the blade is like one gigantic serration, and it's easy to sharpen on a sharpmaker.
 
Both of these knives get my seal of approval, although I do really like the Spec Bump. The Stud Lock is a very innovative design, and, although I'm not a big fan of recurve knives, the blade has a useful shape and the handle ergonomics are what you'd expect from a Ken Onion design---excellent.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy either. :thumbup:
