What to lubricate Cold Steel Trench Hawk with? (My first thread in a few months! :D)

My CS Trench Hawk came in today, and since it's 1055 steel it'll probably need lubricant every once in a while. I've got WD-40, but I'm not sure if that's okay or if there's something better. Anyone have suggestions?

I have a trench hawk as well, the oil or grease they use at the factory actually stayed on for a while, but once that was gone I went with wd-40 as well. Congrats on the hawk as well, its pretty awesome uploadfromtaptalk1346327887292.jpg

I use WD-40 and Rem Oil because they are always around and can be easily replaced no matter where you are. They make smaller cans that pack away very nicely so you have it in the field, one in your truck and one in your pack. Another great item is a gun rag, again it is easy to carry anywhere/everywhere and they often come presoaked with silicone or other oil.

There are probably better things to use for longer term inactivity but then again, they also require cleanup.

Oh yeah, since you have been gone for awhile you probably forgot the forum motto, it didn't happen if there are no pics! :)

I use mineral oil so I can use my carbon blades for food prep without worry, but I somehow don't think that will be a concern with a hawk.

That's one thing I learned on this forum rather quickly, its that everyone is a pic whore! Lol I turned into one as well lol

That is a pretty cool mod. I personally think the Trench Hawk's standard polypropylene handle is a bit too long.
