So My BK7 arrives monday. I bought one from Amazon, and it doesn't come with the smaller utility blade, so i'm looking to pick one up

I'm looking at the small buck made skinners but i'm unsure if one will fit where the little blade goes

Also, i'd like suggestions on a combination of gear that WILL fit for maximum utility in a survival/camping situation

thanks guys :)

I dont think the small buck skinner will fit but I am not sure. Seems too wide to me. You might be able to heat up the insert and make it fit but why bother? Get the Bk 13. Its an amazing little blade for $20.

I keep my remora, two sharpening stones (coarse/fine) some fatwood and a firesteel

I have the large Paklite, I knew what you meant.

The size of the handle is what has me concerned. It looks bigger than the Remora. As it is the Remora is almost a little too big, sometimes requiring me to remove the large knife just to get the Remora in or out of its sheath.

You want to piggyback a buck that bad maybe you can keep it in the pouch behind an altiods tin.

That little PakLite is bigger all around than the Remora. I don't think it has a chance of fitting in the little plastic sheath.

Here is a pic to show it's size relative to a BK9. Notice the edge and spine are parallel -vs- the curves of the PakLite.

Try the fallkniven DC4 sharpening stone. I really like it. Very portable and does a great job in the field. You might also what ot try and fit a firesteel and striker in there somewhere.

Something else I keep in my altiods tin is an allen wrench for the handle bolts.

good system those sheaths, with the piggy back

I have similar plans, BePrepared. I am going to get a BK 7 and also get a BK 14 with the add-on accessory grip scales bolted on. I like this combo because the BK 14 has a decent clip point (not the best, but good). That will allow me to use the 7 for hard chores, and the 14 for finer, precise work. The fact that they will look insanely cool together has absolutely NOTHING to do with this decision . . . . . :)

PS: I have a feeling we may share a history of membership in a particular youth organization.
