What to replace Police model with?

Hello! My EDC knife for the last seven years has been an SS SE Police model. It is absolutely the best knife I have ever owned. However, I would like to switch to something a little smaller, lighter, and more subdued, but without giving up the reliability and durability of the Police model. My best guess at a suitable replacement would be the Para-Military, with the Delica 4 FRN, Native FRN, Native III FRN, and Manix 83mm as runners up. I would appreciate any thoughts or other suggestions you might have. Thanks!

I've had a Delica for EDC for the past 4 years, like it a lot. Just bought a Native, think the point is a more useful configuration. I would think you'd be happy with either one.

I'm new to Spyderco's, but have recently (within the last month) picked up a Chinook I, a Mini-Manix, and a Native (Gen I).

I'm a little biased anyway, but I have to say, I love G10 handles. The FRN (which I'm sure is extremely durable) just feels like cheap plastic compared to the G10 on my Chinook and Mini Manix (as well as the Paramilitary, Military, Manix and Chinook II).

Form me, this would sway my decision. Just my 2 cents.

Before I even read beyond the mouse-hover preview of your post, I was thinking "Paramilitary."

Get one. You won't be disappointed. It'll be smaller and lighter than your Police model, but just as much knife. Solidly built, intelligently engineered.

If you are really looking for something smaller & lighter I wouldn't really go with the Mini Manix. Granted, it is lighter but only by .1 ounce plus it will be much thicker & wider in your pocket than a SS police. Based on your criteria, I would go with the Delica or Para. If you are interested in a PE blade you might also want to take a look at the Centofante.

The Stretch.
It is a little smaller and lighter then the Police. It still has SS handles which you are use to, but it has kraton inserts for better grip.
Plus it has a 4 way clip, so you can carry it tip up/down, left or right.
Let us know what you decide.

Yep, I was going to suggest the Mini-Manix but it would be about the same weight. However, it is styled much different than your Police and is about the most bullet proof knife being made today IMO. Paramilitary would be a great one as well.
