what to store ferric chloride in

My etching tank is a 24" section of 4" PVC pipe with a closed toilet flange for the bottom and a slip on cap for the top. Screw the flange to a 24X24" piece of plywood for safety. To store the extra stock solution, just use a heavy plastic jug.

I use a 5 gallon bucket. I don’t use it often so i just snap the lid down tight when not using it.

Ok, I am having this exact issue, went to home depot with advice. Just wow, 42 dollars for all parts, or I am doing something wrong with toilet flange idea. I decided to research more or just use glass jar for 5 bucks and keep formula in several more jars.

Glas jars work, just use plastic caps, or they'll corrode and eventually leak vapors and trust your shop up.

I just use a ~20" piece of 2" PVC with a flat cap glued on the bottom and a flat cap pressed on the top. Not as stable as the one E.Carlson E.Carlson has there, but when acid is laying around you gotta be careful anyways. I tuck it in a corner when not using it so it doesn't get knocked over.

The main problem I see here is having a deep enough jar to get the whole blade, but I do mainly kitchen blades and so often need more than 10" depth.
