What do you guys use to clean the handles and the texture on the handle of the Spyderco Delica 4.

i’ve noticed that a lot of gunk gets inside of the texture because of the grooves and square pattern on the handle and I’ve been able to use three in one oil or sometimes even ballistiol And just sort of put it on a brush and scrub it in but I’m wondering if the oil would harm the plastic

Is there something I should use to clean the plastic that would be better

I just use soap and water and a cheap toothbrush. Shake all the water out of it that I can, use a paper towel for the rest, then re-oil the pivot.
Same for me, I just use the air compressor rather than paper towels.

I wouldn’t expect oil to harm nylon. FRN is fiber reinforced nylon. Avoid acids and bases.

Oil will cause swelling in other types of plastics, such as polyethylene or polypropylene.

What Planterz said, plus compressed air (Auglaize mentioned it above) and some oil of choice.

Complete tear down.
Old toothbrush with dish soap to
scrub the FRN.

Dishwasher and a light scrub, then I dry the inside of the knife with some tissue and Q-tip. Compressed air near the pivot. That is if I don't want to disassemble a knife like the delica.

Similar to everyone above...

I use a drop of Dawn dish soap and a toothbrush. I get the water as hot as my hands can take. Compressed air and oil to finish.

Same deal for G10 and Micarta.
