What to use on Gutta Percha knife scales to condition them?

I picked up a couple knives today that have Gutta Percha scales on them, is there anything that can be used on them to condition/preserve them? They are currently in nice condition with little wear, but would like to keep them from drying out or getting brittle. Thanks.

This is a robust material, (used for shoes and trunk padding) just don't drop it and keep it away from UVs.
