Garth told me they use WD40 in the shop, so that's what I use.

I use mineral oil... it's safe to eat, wont spoil or go rancid, odor free...

It's the only thing to use in my mind.

My thoughts also.
If you don't like it you can quickly wash it with dish washing soap, degreaser or terpintine. I just spray degreaser on a Q-tip and jub it off. You can blow dry it and its back to normal if you don't like the oil look. Well with the degreaser it will be dry when your finished.

Mineral oil is something of a marvel. It is what everyone who owns ivory recommends for preservation of those old teeth. I really like the fact that it is non-toxic and thus suitable for any blades that touch food. Besides, it makes an excellent laxative for those of us who are full of it.

Nothing but the best for my babies. I use Vitamin E oil so that they don't get wrinkles with age.

I also use mineral oil. One thing that hasn't been mentioned is that it also washes off easily with dishsoap.

Well I did it, took all my uncoated blades out for a little maintenance, the only one not factory DC is the NO but it was Satin once :D
