Happy Father's Day everyone

Me and my 13 year old were in a new indoor fleamarket here in town and she asked me if she could have 20 dollars. Knowing that I went through a divorce a year and a half ago with her mom I dont think she really wanted to ask knowing money has been tight lately. I said sure because she really doesnt ever ask for alot. She went off on her way and I really forgot about it all together. When we walked outside I saw here carrying a little bag and asked her what she got. When we got in the car she said Happy Early Fathers Day!

I know its just a 20 dollar Rough Rider but I will always keep it and cherish it just like the girl who bought it...

No new sharps today, but I did get a nice picture of the two loves of my life. Here it is with last year's Father's Day gift.

The knife is a little more worn, a lot more patinaed, but it is better now than when new because of the year's worth of memories associated with it.

What model is that? It looks nice.

Edit: found it. RR1186 Dog Bone Jack.

My boys gave me a GEC Pemberton, two bladed, with autumn gold jigged bone handles. Dropped it in the pocket to ride shotgun with a red bone Charlow.
All set for the day!

Okay, that just brought tears to my eyes.

Thanks for this post.

Awww! Have to say it again, that is such a great pic. What a sweetie! :)

Not seeing my girls until Tuesday, and I'm kind of hoping there's no knives involved since I'm not sure what they'd look like! And of course any knife given would mean the world to me and I'd have to carry it! :D

I got this Parker Cut co. Lockback Whittler today. I'm not usually a fan of whittlers but it is a well made knife.

That picture really grabs a hold of me and makes me smile. Thank you for sharing that with us, Christian.

Priceless, Christian. Everything about this post-- the picture, its subjects, your words.

Thank you.

Lovely story about the Rough Rider -- sweet daughter you have!

No new knives given or received, but my son's yeller peanut had disappeared from his pocket and he could not find it. I told him where in his car it likely had slipped away to hide. He looked, and there it was, so he was reunited with his daily carry knife.

Here's a photo I took of it when he was here for Christmas:

I didn't get my dad a knife because he's a one-knife kind of guy (he EDC's an ALOX SAK Electrician, and I'm not a dad so I didn't get anything). I did cook him some of the best brats I've done yet though!
