be close to the Buck Ranger Skinner (FB) knife?

Blade length under 4 inches or like the Ranger length of 3 1/8 inches long.

Can you give me some name brands and models?

Thank you.

Cate

I think the Buck Ranger is still available, a Google search will fix you up with a number of suppliers

Edit - Here it is on Buck's own site: http://www.buckknives.com/product/113-ranger-skinner-knife/0113BRS-B/

I have been converted to the Pukko, the little knife that Could. :D Just finished this fat little guy.

Best regards

Robin

Many knife makers out there can hook you up Catherine, with a good comparable blade. John Kiedaisch and David Farmer come to mind.

The izula 2 is pretty similar. But I love my 113. That is a sweet knife

Thanks and I will look this one up.

Okay, I looked this up and I have read about the Esse brand here and on an old gun forum.

I never saw one in person though. Many of my stores in Western Montana do not carry all of these brand names but I may call them again and go down and see if that has changed.

I will book mark this baby.

Thanks!

Okay and thank you very much.

I am really leaning more and more into fixed blades more than folding knives. They work better for me.

I will still keep, carry and USE my two Buck folding knives and the SWEET FB Buck Ranger Skinner.

I think that I found my knife calling - small FB knives. I am still going through some more that my husband wants me to try in his small collection. Three of them (FB) are okay there. Others (FB) are very nice but they do not FIT me well with the grip, eerrr, HANDLE as they say for knives. Plus some of those blades are longer than what I want for my personal use.

He has some beautiful, classic, older pocket knives left here but I still like the fixed blades better.

They are easy for me to use in and out of a sheath.

Thanks again!

Hello,

I have one and love it!

I was trying to see what else is close to this model out there in other brands.

I LOVE my Buck knives too. I only have a few of them but I am very pleased with them.

Thanks again.

Cate

Sorry about the misunderstanding

Lots of good suggestions I see. I have several Frosts of Mora Lapplander, and the smaller ones might fit the bill.

Hope you find something you like :)

There are several configurations in the Bark River Knife line that would fit the bill just fine. Well made knives too.

I have a Buck Gen 5 Skinner that I'm very fond of. I don't hunt but its thin blade would skin very well, but I use it as a hiking food prep knife or when fishing, it slices excellently. Feels very good in most hands I'd think and is not eXpensive either.

Thanks, Will

No problem!

Thanks for putting these down to check out.

A friend of ours carried a Frost fixed blade while he was in the military - a spare knife. I do not know if your Frost brand (?) was the same as his though. I like what you posted here.

EDIT: Your link was not what our friend had. I like your knives better!

Thanks again.

Thank you and I looked this up. It is very pretty and looks sturdy.

It says it is discontinued on the Buck and Cabelas websites but I will look some more on the main BUCK website too.

I only did a quick search online.

My husband is home now from work and we are looking at the links and knives that all of you have told me about here.

Thanks again!
