In that vein, what knives are you giving as gifts in this season of giving, and to whom?

Son #2 has moved back to the USA from Scotland with his wife and my fine young grandson. He is now free to carry a pocket knife, but alas, he only has a couple of modern folders. So, to properly indoctrinate him to the wonderful world of traditionals, I dug through the cigar boxes and picked these two~ a 4” Craftsman Stockman, and my camo Wenger.

I also want him to have the Ek Bowie his brother carried in Afghanistan.

So what are you giving this year?

The third pic is not a knife! My grandson will be 2 in the spring, so I built this toddler bed for him. A bit of a scramble, but it’s done for Christmas.

My oldest son will be receiving a Case Muskrat, in Mammoth tooth, that he saw at a gun show that he attended with me. He really took a liking to it, and the price was right, so I told him that I would get it for him as part of his Christmas gift.

My two sons-in-law are each getting a custom fixed blade this Christmas.

Nice one Jeff! I'm sure you won't have to stand in any long customer service lines to return that gift! Merry Christmas! -Lance

My uncle has always been like a second father to me and has gifted me all sorts of fishing equipment and knives throughout the years.

He usually carries a small case knife or sometimes I will catch him with a junky Chinese Walmart or bass pro slip joint.

I've been talking about GEC with him now for a couple years and he still hasn't pulled the trigger on one. He has two kids in college at the moment so I believe his personal "fun" money is non existent at the moment. I was texting with him the other day and found out that his favorite type of knife is a small two blade jack. I think he kind of caught on to me and responded with a "don't be buying me anything you little sh*t" .... heh, but I did anyway! So I tracked down a 2 bladed 14 in OD green micarta and I can't wait to see the look on his face when I hand it to him.

I still love the experience of opening up a fresh new GEC... The tube with the unique label, the wax paper, all of it. And I've done it a few dozen times now. So it will be fun to be able to share that experience with him for the first time!

Wow, oddly enough, none. The most recent knife I got was one of the 2017 BF trads knives and I won't be parting with it. I'll have to start plotting for next Christmas.

Great story-the true spirit of the season!

Most of my kids, stepkids and various in-laws and out-laws received either the Okapi Biltong or the MAM Operario, a friction folder with a sheepsfoot blade. Couples received one of each; I left it to them to work out who carried which.

My oldest son, the only real enthusiast of the bunch, received a Maserin Plow in bocote (autocorrect wants that to be “bootees”). I had already given him a Biltong last month for my birthday.

Well, to myself! This is because none of my non Digi friends or family are at all interested in knives except a young woman I know who enjoys hiking. But she likes to be very minimalist and doesn't want to carry anything more than she's rationed out, I can understand that as I drag far too much stuff along:D Fun that though too:cool:

So I treated myself to a Fontanelle-Pataud in horn. Ordered it well in advance but the Christmas postal tsunami engulfed it:( Waited in all day 22nd Dec the last chance for deliveries then at 4pm I had to go out. Returned the next morning, bit of paper waiting for me, missed delivery 17.00 19.30 and 21.00 a late one there! Now it's gone 250 kms back to their depot, the wait continues....feeling a bit sorry for myself, cherry dashed from the lips etc:eek::D
