Hi all. Just wondering what wilderness and survival courses (military or civilian) some of you may have taken. I would like to attend a field course some day and am looking for some recommendations.

I have taken to survival courses, one with BOSS and another one with Simply Survival. I have both reviews on my web page. Both great courses.

One of these days I'm going to take some Tom Brown courses, I would love to learn about tracking and primative survival stuff.

Never took any formal courses, just grew up roaming the woods as a kid on the farm.

I am going in 2 weeks to take a course on flintknapping and primitive tool making.

Kinda looking forward to it.

I learned from a few woods wise folks and went out for plenty of practice and self learning adventures.

I've heard some about Tom Brown and I'm thinking next year I'll try and take his course that he gives here in California at Boulder Creek.

Attended a flint knapping, atlatl and bow making rendezvous a few years ago and learned plenty just by watching the experts and asking a few questions. Cost was $10.00 a nite to camp, plus gas and food.

I went through the 10th MTN Cold Weather Survival Course at Fort Drum, NY. This was several years back but I remember it being 4 days long with some class time and 2 days field time.
