What type of coating is on the black 560 blades in the buildouts?

I'd like to know what coating was used on the 560 blades that are in the newly released buildouts. It almost looks like paint or powder coating that was done after the blades were stamped. It's sure different that that on the Bass Pro Shops CPM154 and the Cabelas AG S30V blades.

The stamp on the 560 blade is not as distinct, like it's been painted over and just dosen't stand out like the stamps on the other dark blades.

Its just a black oxide coating ,the same coating you could get in the custom shop on 420 hc blades,its a flat powdery finish,i agree.

It varies; 560's from 92-92 had a blade nitride finish; those from 95-98 had black powder coat

These are '95 blades, so powder coated it must be then.
