ok so i have a spyderco mule and i originally put some paracord on it. the paracord turned out better then i was expecting but im not very happy with it,
so i bought some wood to make knife scales out of, however i have no clue what type of pins or screws i should use. I would prefer screws so i can take the scales on and off when needed.
This still leaves me with a lot of different options which is kind of overwhelming and i have no clue where to start. pretty much the only thing ive decided is i want them to be either silver or black
The wood i have is 3/8" thick per side. the knifes overall thickness including the tang will be 0.868. This is the uncut raw thickness so the final scales will be a little thinner.

im not sure if what tools i have will influence what type of screws would work best in my situation but i have a drill press and a bent sander and of course a dremel

Thank you for your time and i really appreciate any advice you guys can give me to lead me in the right direction

the problem is i dont know which type to get,
i dont know if one type would work better for this over another type. there are so many different types that i dont know where to start
i havnt been able to find a website or posts that go through and show the pros and cons of each style. its hard to make a decision when i dont have the facts

Go to YouTube and search for “How to install a knife handle.” You’ll find lots of examples that use various types of bolts and pins. You'll quickly get an idea of how things work and what you like best.

Then go to the Halpern mule-scale site:

http://www.halperntitanium.com/spyderco-handles/

Buy some scales that you like. They and cheap and will come with mounting bolts. You can copy the pattern so the bolts will work on your custom-made wood scales. it will give you an idea of how they go together. After that, buy the kind of bolts that look best to you.
