Debating on black Micarta or Dymondwood. What are your thoughts?

Definitely Black linen micarta. Try bead-blasting the micarta as well. You'd be surprised how cool that looks.

Scraped, burnt, sliced, smashed. AHHHH, knifemaking!!!!

Wow. That looks awesome!!! I agree..something dark. Dark black, or blue black g10..something dark and shady will really look sweet for that knife. keep up the great work!!!

If you look up Dymondwood in the dictionary, it says "Cheesy".

I agree, anything but Dymondwood.I prefer natural materials, so I would suggest water buffalo or black ebony.Nice work, Dave

Top Ten Reasons that Dymondwood sucks ass :

10. only 3 or 4 of all the colors look any good.
9. It doesn't really look like the picture in the catalog.
8. It really looks like crap.
7. It only comes in thick slabs or thicker blocks
6. Its hard to cut.
5. It gums up your saw blade
4 Its smells like **** when you cut it
3. It looks worse after you cut it
2. It splits to easy to peen your pins much
1. It looks like **** no matter how you finish it.

At least form my experience with it. I ordered plain cocobolo slabs that look nice and brown in the catalog. They came and they were bright orange. It didn't cut well. It split. It has to be sanded back to a high finish to keep it from having a dull look to it.

I may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer... but I've got the sharpest knife in the room.

:
Since it has the appearane of a tactical knife to me I would also go for the black linen Micarta with a bead blasted or coarse sanded finish.

The Burgundy micarta would also be a nice choice, but I think it would be nicer with a highly polished finish.

Well, lesve it to me to be different, I think it would look great with Gemsbok scales. Thats one of my favorite handle materials for this style of blade, really adds some class and beauty.
