Perhaps you will be swayed towards your most favored style, but if you were a sword, what type of sword would you be? Think about it in terms of the traits that you feel best define you, and relate it to the sword you've chosen.

While the focus is still sword...if you feel you can better relate to a different classical weapon, explain which and why :)

Well, if I HAD to go with sword, I'd probably go shortsword--just a simple, common, utilitarian piece. Understated, but functional.

Now, a more accurate (to my mind, at least) analogy would be the Maul. Big, graceless, straightforward, and blunt...yep, that's me. No matter where or how you swing it, it's a hammer. And EVERYTHING looks like a nail, some days.

A Roman bronze gladius, officer's model with gold embellishments. Officer's cuz I'm the head nuts around here, and the gold accents due to the fact that I am blonde.... gold twinges here and there.

A short stubby "pommel'. (Danged cursed genital genetics anyways :( )

Light, impervious to the elements; Quick and sharp, but can quickly become blunt and short to the point.

Pretty close I'd say, Bob.

Wicked, Curvy, Sharp, Short(sword)

Relating to personality:
Sharp on the inside, blunt on the outside.
Wicked sense of humor and overall crazy.
Short well what can I say, what I lack in height more than make up in other ways.
Curvy, I'll let ya people figure that one out!

Ferocious in War, slicin' dicin' in Yard and pretty looking to boot.

If any of the above makes sense..... :D

Big, hi-mass, requires rigorous training and strength, imposing on the field, always a basher, best of both worlds (sword and polearm) combined. Requires both hands to get a grip! More agile than it looks. Not for the weak of limb or spirit!

renaissance short sword for a short guy like me: light enough for quick strusts and at least 36" overall.

Design:
Chisa katana, 18" blade w/ 10" inch tang. Tang signed, dark grey body, nice frosty white hamon. Sharp as hell. No embellishments of any kind. Copper habaki. No gaurd. One retaining peg. Wood handle w/ reversed swell, wood scabbard, some random cloth or leather fragments loosely wrapped or draped around scabbard. The kind of sword a nomad would enjoy.

Personality:
Minimalist.
Efficient.
Logical.
Fiercely loyal companion or friend.

That is the kind of sword I would be.

what sword would be i eh?

hrmm...

stainless...

440C (no heat treat)
simulated temper line
resin impregnated, black paracord wrap over high tensile plastic tsuka
tachi motif diecast tsuba with a chrome finish
chrome plated f/k
and of course, an aluminum... no wait... kydex sheath, with a back hook and loop strap.

Heya Dave :)

To throw mine in, I think I'm starting to lean towards a Chinese Jian. Very few of good quality. They're underappreciated and misunderstood by many people. Versatile and flexible, strongest emphasis on precision. Intended to be graceful and fluid. Difficult and can be frustrating, requires patience.
