What type of targets and practice area do you use?

Here is my little practice yard. I'd love to see what others have come up with to simulate different distances and angles.

[/IMG] I have heights, some varying distances and sizes covered. Also have a few holes to throw from and obstacles to move across but need more odd angles The total length of area from one set of targets to the other is 25 feet. I can get more length by pushing some back but start getting pretty far into some thick woods. Having eight or ten feet of open ground keeps me from spending too much time searching in the leaves for strays. There are also targets at 6 to 10 feet on both sides that are unseen in these photos. They provide short range snap throws from the center.

I've modified this and added about six new target faces. Today I am hoisting a palette with two faces on it above the 20' mark so I can simulate throwing uphill and adjust the height with a rope and pulley. Hopefully that will help with my throwing uphill problems.

I was just out throwing and second time today. First time, about 33 degrees and almost everything was bouncing off regardless of how hard thrown. I was using the most pointy knives I have which are Condor 12." Pine sap in the rounds was hard as rock. Second time at 46 degrees and 6 hours later, almost everything sticks in the rounds if thrown with force. So I am convinced that a few degrees can make a big difference in how hard the grain and sap might get. I'm not even sure it ever reached freezing last night but big changes in the targets!

I hang targets on a tree with a large space behind it to be sure I don't lose any knives nor hit anyone. Sometimes I put up an 8x12 foot backboard (but I haven't done that in a long while).

I've worn a path in my back yard from walking back and forth to the target.
