Do any of you guys happen to know what type of wood this gun is made of? It looks like it might be black and white ebony or Malaysian Blackwood to me, but I figured there might be someone on the forums that knows more about wood than me.

Without some closeup pics, it's hard to determine.....But....similar stocks
were often made from birch, with the laminations dyed different colors...

Yep, dyed laminated hardwood. Birch is a strong possibility. Not sure about the caps on the pistol grip and forend/forearm.

My guess would be Zebra Wood. And not necessarily dyed (though probably dyed). That's just a guess though. There is none so pro as to actually tell you from a picture with absolute certainty (unless it is natural, wood identification can be extremely difficult and easily fallible). I'd say contact the manufacturer if able.

Richards microfit, royal camo laminate rollover style. they are still avalible. you would have to add the diamond inlays.

Perhaps he'd like to have a custom knife made with matching scales?
Perhaps he saw a knife with nice wood scales and thought knife people might know about it?

Lord knows that the only thing a person should have an interest in is knives...

Then why show the gun?

^^^ this. I'll add that the tip/cap are rosewood. I've done several Richards Microfit stocks over the years.

Lets see.. There are threads on boots, watches, bikes, flash lights, wallets etc... So guns are ok too!!!! John

Correct. Bladeforums is not just a knife forum. All man widgets seemed to be covered here.

Hello,

I showed this to my husband and he thought that it looked like a laminate to him. It looks like that to me too.

Pictures DO help and it is kind of difficult to see unless you see it in person.

My neighbor man has a laminate bolt action rifle and the wood is stained in various shades of brown. His rifle is an older rifle. I only saw it once. We go to the same rifle range too.

Thank you for sharing. It is always interesting to see nice knives, firearms, survival items and other outdoor gear on this forum.

Take care.

Cate
