Hey guys, just looking to get your opinion on something here. I think its safe to say that case knives today really suck when compared to some of the stuff they put out earlier and the stuff companies like gec is putting out now. But they made some great knives in earlier years, which years do you think were best? I hear that their 70's knives were good, and to stay away from the 80's but I just wanted to hear what you guys had to say. Ive been thinking about picking up one from the 70's off of (removed non BF dealer reference) for roughly $100

dunno bout all that but i have quite a few from 2000-2012 and all have been good to go most on par with my Schatt and Morgan or GEC, i did have a yellow trapper from the 90's that the F&F wasnt the greatest, gave it to a buddy that loves trappers (weirdo :))

Everything before and up to the 80's was on a whole very very good. I felt that starting with 1980 itself up through the 90's quality took a hit. They quit pinning the shields in 1980 and from that point on I thought some (not all) quality issues started to decline.

I dig the knives from the 60's and 70's. Of course Tested and XX are the best but they're expensive and
lots of fakes out there...

It really shows if you can get your hands on some minty examples of the same pattern from the different eras. None better before it nor after:
