What was I thinking?

I'm suffering from a bad case of seller's remorse. .Two years ago I thought I had better get a few handguns while I could but the only way it would happen was to sell some of the wonderful 112's I had carefully acquired from 2008 on. I separated about 25 that were never, ever would be parted from me or my display and then had to decide what could bring in enough funds to pay for the Glocks. Up till then I had never sold a Buck knife of any kind ,only traded a few to other Buck collectors. It was painful deciding what could be replaced in the future if needed verses there value to my theme of rare, odd, one of one and prototype 112's. I think most of us at one time or another 'thin the herd ' to focus our collection or go in a different direction or model. (Except for Armand lolol) My brother wanted/needed a few for a 'Dad n Lad' so I tried to balance all the different factors. IN the end my collection went from about 75 to 80 down to 50 to 55. Now I keep seeing cool ,rare 112's on the Forum and the bay and think ' I used to have one like that ..Of course now the cost to replace the one's I let go has doubled or even more and worst of all I don't think some can be replaced! So has any of yall who have let a good Buck get away from you for any reason ask yourself What was I thinking?

I was a hand gun collector. Many were purchased to collect and many I have shot but shooting has become more difficult and expensive in recent years. I live in California and the recent ammunition proposition has pushed me to start liquidating my collection. I've decided a NIB Colt Grizzly purchased in 1994 and a NIB Colt Lew Horton El Cabo I purchased in 2000 will be the first pair going up on the auction block. I'll probably just end up purchasing more Bucks but I know once I sell my guns and they leave this state, they won't be coming back.

Yep a few years ago I decided I was going to get rid of several knives because I had no "need" for knives I wasn't going to use. I let a few really nice Bucks, Case, Schatts, and others go. Yes I have remorse because a year or so later I realized how much enjoyment I received from collecting. I greatly regret selling my ironwood with deer cutout Vanguard and the stag Schatts. :(
