What was the Bali in the movie Red Dawn??

The boys were sitting around the camp fire and one was notching his AK with a Bali after a day of shooting the enemy. What was that Bali?? I thought it was a PC, but I'm not sure.

I don't know, but the scene was rather neat.

Milius won an award from The Gun Owners of America for that movie.
