What was your very first knife and how much was it?
Mine was a Buck 110 LOOK A LIKE at about $7.50. Used to sharpen that baby on rocks

Gonna put a spin on this, if you still have your very first knife, would you trade it? If I did, I wouldnt.

One of those little TRIM three-blade knives from back in the 1970's. It was my dad's, and I swiped to use as a weight for one of my homemade parachutes. He spent fifteen+ years on submarines, and from what I understand, everyone had them on their keyring. I don't think I used it for much, but it was neat having it. I lost it later. :(

By the way, jackknife brought up a similar topic back in May; some of the stories are great.

A very old, rusted Camillus scout knife with dark wooden handles. I somehow got it from my dad. The knife blade was so sharpened down that when closed, the point stuck out of the handle. It was so rusted that the other blades were incapable of opening. That was back in about early 1977. I think by that time it was probably about 30 to 40 years old. I still have it somewhere in a drawer.

SAK with big blade, little blade, can openerm screw driver and bottle opener, awl

got it with my Cub Scout knife badge.

My first knife that didn't come out of a bubble-gum machine was a Colonial 6-blade Scout pattern, that my Dad brought back for me from a long trucking run. I still have it some 40 years later, in a sheath I made for it as a boy; the main blade is loose from use and abuse, but it's still sharp.

I was 5 or 6 and it was a copy of the buck knight. My aunt, who was more like a sister since she wasn't too much older than me, gave it to me and swore me to secrecy since my mom and dad thought I was still too young. I'm not sure who made it but it was pretty good quality. Looked like this:

The first knife my father bought me, at 7 or 8, was an old timer stockman just like this:

My first Fixed blade was a buck woodsman:

I don't know why but I was drawn to knives almost from birth. Maybe I was a blacksmith or something in a past life.

My first knife was a hardware store Barlow knife. My neighbor who was like an adopted Grandfather bought it for me when I was about seven so that knife would be over forty if I hadn't lost it. I'm sure it wasn't much by today's standards but I wish I still had it.:(

A scout style knife that were sold on cardboard point of sale displays, with each knife held in its own cut-out. Back in the 60's these displays were commonplace in all hardware stores, candy stores, barber shops, etc. It's long gone...

I can even remember when knives were sold like this and I aint talking about the 60's either. Funny how the selling of knives or knife ownership has changed so much (where I'm from anyway) If your carrying here your automatically a criminal :(

Mine was a Queen bone barlow given to me by my grandfather when I was 8 (that was a very, very long time ago, nearly 60 years :-) Been collecting knives ever since. I still have that Queen barlow from my grandfather.

This little Tuxedo pen knife. I found it when I was six or seven years old. The pivot pin was pulled out of the bolster and liner on one end, so I replaced it with an axle out of a Matchbox car (when you're that age, you use what you can find). I carried it for years, and I still have it. It isn't for sale or trade. :D
