What were the first gen William Henry knives produced?

I remember when they first came out the first one I saw was the pearl series with ATS 34 blades and blue anodized titanium liners.

It took me a month to find one and it was a T10-P Lancet, since then they've all been a lot fancier with higher end materials than those first gen knives.

My question is are the 1st gens more rare, I rarely find any of them on the secondary market, any idea how many were made?

Not my pic but mine looks identical.

Didn't they also make autos?

IIRC they used to, they're in Oregon and they are legal to own and carry but I did read somewhere they discontinued making them a little while back.

The Lancet is comparable to a CRK Mnandi, actually fit and finish are superior to the CRK although I'm sure they seek more Mnandis then all the knives WH sells but try to buy WH for under $800.

You can buy plenty of titanium WHs for under $800.

Your Pearl t10 wh was made from late 1998 till about 2005-you can date it by the type of box, 97-99, square jewelry type box, 2000-2002, cardboard slideout box, 2002-2004, black box, 2005, blue coffen box. First ones made were in 1997 and have William Henry on the blade, early 1998 had that on the blade along with william henry till about mid 98 when Matt C developed his WH logo which since then has adorned his knives. The early 97-98 "dated Blades" are VERY rare and bring big bucks(over a grand for nib models). In todays market(ebay)your knife nib would bring around $300-350. In 2001 they added damascus blades to the lineup and called it the t10PD. I'd post some pics but have trouble doing so on this site. email me for more info, I have many wh's in my collection.

Seems like all the ones I see on the secondary market are all dressed up and way overpriced, BTW I have to admit the $800 was an arbitrary price, all the ones I saw on 3bay were in excess of $700. Just don't seem to find the plain Jane WHs around, they ask have woolly mammoth risk scales with previous songs and metal being used.

My main curiosity is about how available are the old ones and what are the first ones made, I could go down to the basement and go through my 15 years of magazines,I remember Blade doing a front page story on the first WH knives coming out, Matt Conable was trying to fill a niche and came out swinging, hitting home run after home run.

They are very desirable which is one of the reasons for my question about how many were made at first.

per Matt C, 200 made by himself in 1997, his first yr of production, most were t10s in pearl, cocobolo and micarta, see the pic of a prototype in my avatar from 97 with a silver bolster

Thank you for the reply, I think I'll keep mine. :)

I'm not looking to buy but for reference purposes I'd appreciate it, I don't know much about them other than even they came out in 97 I had to have one, actually I bought mine back then for $125, I guess I got a good deal. :)
