Hello everybody,

I encountered on the Internet some S&M knives that were presented in a nice box, either in wood or in leather (real ou fake), and described as "President's choice knife".

What were these knives ? Were they SFO from S&M ? Gift knives for some staff members or external authorities ?

Are they better made than the usual S&M and are they scarce ?

Very thank you for all info because I found almost none !

Have a nice collecting time,

Henri

I believe they were a limited run during Mr. Daniel's time at the helm.
I think I've seen 4 or 5 different President's for sale on line. (not eBay. I don't go there) I don't know how many former Presidents got a knife, or how a pattern was assigned to each of them.

Not sure about being "Daniels" knives, but I believe some predate his ownership.

They were a marketing stunt. The knives were S&M patterns chosen annually by the president of Queen for limited production usually with premium pearl covers. They were sold in a display case and certificates of authenticity, signed by the president. The exact knife was not available other than in the limited run, although the patterns were not unique. When in production they were not hard to get, but they didn't sell quickly for some dealers. I believe the last issue was actually released the year after the date on the knives. They are pretty with 420hc (I think) blades. THey were probably "better made" since they are limited edition and were probably made by experienced staff.

I agree with B brownshoe !! The only ones I have seen came well before Ken Daniels bought Queen!
There may have been some under Ken's watch, as afishhunter afishhunter has stated, but I haven't seen any.
