Yes, I know, a rather morbid topic... BUT> I was looking at some of the fine collections around here and wondered what would happen to these fine blades when we passed on... Would you sell them to your fellow HOGS before you died and have the money for your kids "cause honestly, I don't know where to sell knives of this price except on the forum and ebay" Does your kids like your busse knives enough to keep them, or would they trade them all off for Playstations and I-pods? otherwords, do any of you have any plans for your investment after depart the world?
Would you bury them with you :)
I first wondered about this when I saw a HOG Ash1 for sale on ebay from a person who also had some other busse knives and evidently had no idea what he had. they all went high.. but I can't imagine selling my HOG ASH1 ever..
any thoughts

THey will go to my son first and my daughters second. I figure they will have first dibbs on their mothers jewelry box;):D

They are all to be sold and the $$ to my wife.

Well, all but my SHSHII, it's goin with me....

Oh yeah, and the B&T..... ;)

My son is a Marine, and would probably keep a few that would suit his purposes for combat/survival like me, but he doesn't have the "passion" for the knives like I do.... otherwords, fondling them at night while I watch TV, while I'm driving, and with a few, in the middle of the night when I can't sleep. I think he would sell the rest and buy a new car :(

My daughter will probably sell them at a garage sale:grumpy:

Most to the wife to sell, couple to my son, couple to my daughter, my CGFBM to my grandson, everytime he comes to the house he wants to see it, he's 9, and my BBSHSH goes with me.

the pink one goes to my girl, two go with me and the rest to my bro and sis. the war department doesn't care for or about them.

I have a "Hog Directory" that was put out a few years ago .....my wife is instructed to contact 3 people on there to help her out with selling them in the case of my untimely demise.

I have no kids and I want the knives to go to folks who will appreciate them ..........so I am planning a little GANZA

When I reach a ripe old age I will offer my ENTIRE collection for sale here on BF for $1-00 a knife. Only one per customer.
BUT you must agree never to sell or give the knife away. If you want to dispose of it you must re-list it here on BF for........$1-00
So stick around folks.........ya never know:)

ill probably sell most before i get too old,and the few i keep will go to family or freinds..

Well no kids yet, but hopefully they will be able to appreciate em and inherit them. If not, I'll sell mine to those who do when it's time.

The one exception is my BWM LE - we are going to use it as a cake knife at our wedding, so I'd like to pass it down as such. Even if my future kids have no interest in knives, I'm sure they'll appreciate tradition.

My son is special needs. My brothers and sisters are "city folk" and not into knives.

I hope to be down to ten or less knives when that time comes and I am hoping that my two nephews will have some appreciation of knife related activities. If not there are one or two friends that I would specifically leave a special knife for.

Ok. This is a great idea! I have found that when I go set up at gunshows and put out Busse's; within the entire show, I may have 1-2 people actually know what they are and what they are worth, most just look at them, acknowledge they are very nice knives, then ask the price and their jaw drops.
Yes, there are a couple of HOGS I need to put into my will as contacts. If the Blade forums ever shut down "ie. no more internet" I would like to have the ones I have for true user/keepers. In bad times, the average person would just want to buy some cheap blade > Kabar. The high priced ones would be hard to barter out for what they are worth. yes, I"m referring to economic collapse> SHTF
