So, I originally found this forum by looking for a go to camping knife for my summers. I had read about the BK2 somewhere, and my research led me here. After lurking for a while, and reading multiple threads singing its praises, I pulled the trigger on the BK2 and couldn't be happier. That should have been the end of story. I had my camping knife. Good to go. Hell, I live in suburbia. There is no eartlhy reason why I needed to buy the BK11... but I did. Now I'm finding myself eying a BK5 and thinking about the BK16. So I either need to question my own sanity and level of self-control, or assume that this forum has somehow brainwashed me. The latter is what I'm going to be telling my wife anyway.

Welcome to knife collecting...

There is no cure for this addiction.

Maybe stabbing your eyes out, but it's eaiser to just buy more knives. Just wait till you get into big blades and machetes, then there's hawks and axes, and then...

After five of them you won't question yourself anymore. You'll know you are a knife slut and be ok with the fact.

Now we gotta define Knife Whore versus knife Slut. Huge difference I think.

You have to have one at least for every day of the week...I'm like mister Rogers..my wife and son will see me walk over to the coat closet and change my knife.

It's pretty simple really. Clich is a knife slut, while on the other hand entirely and much more extreme we have the knife whore, and a good example of that would be clich. I think that clears it up...:D

Knife slut implies I enjoy what I do....knife whore means I do it because I have little respect for myself and have daddy issues.

The postman doesn't even look in my eye anymore when he drops off my blades.

It's like you reached into my brain and duplicated my thoughts!!!!

I feel like "kinife john" is more appropriate, because after all, I'm paying for it... the knives I mean...

The first step is admitting you have a problem. The second step is realizing that there is a specific type of knife designed to address almost any problem.

And you know what, talking about it just makes it worse. I kind of thought that posting this would make me more able to resist ordering a BK5. But you know what? I have come very very close to ordering one in the last 20 minutes.
