No wars, please!! I intend no flame or insult to anyone else's taste. Just expressing the current state of my own interest.

In 2007, I won't
- Fail to buy at least one William Henry
- Buy riveted-construction folders
- Buy liner lock folders
- Buy plastic (FRN, etc.) scales
- Buy Case knives
- Buy Chinese / Korean knives
- Buy serrated blades
- Keep all the cheaper or less-liked and -carried knives I've collected
- Hand my EDC to anyone who isn't carrying his own knife without really good reason

In 2007, I may not
- Buy partially serrated blades
- Buy inexpensive knives
- Buy Buck knives

How about you??

I will not add or change any processes in my knife making before consulting the more experienced knife makers of these forums to make shure I'm not dumb or beating my head against the wall.

I won't (I hope) stab myself in the arm & hand again in 2007..

Good luck glockman. I'm with you on that one. -I also plan on not buying anymore knives that I don't plan on using. Well, maybe one...or two. No more than two though.

hey, nevertoomany, as long as you're not keeping all those cheap ones, perhaps you'd like to donate some my way? heh. worth a try, eh? :)

I've also been trying to upgrade my collection, phasing out the lower quality pieces, but they can still be useful for dissection/parts/etc.
I plan to collect more damascus, more stag, more interesting pieces (by which I mean unusual pieces).

In 2007 I will keep my knife outside of my body.
In 2007 I will finally buy my BG-42 Military
In 2007 I will make my own G-10 scales for my knives

What won't I do?

I won't, not, buy a Sebenza
I won't, not, buy a Mnandi
I won't buy a knife with plastic type handle material.
I won't get my leg stitched up again, due to carelessness with my Kershaw ET.

I will attempt to make my first knife.
I will buy more wharncliffe style blades.

I will buy less but better quality knives
I will buy more customs and antique knives and less trendy production knives.
I will make my first sole authorship knife
I will find a better way to store my knives than scattering them around the house.
I will finally invent the perfect way to carry a 4 inch fixed blade knife in perfect comfort ,security and concealment even for guys with a gut.

I'd like to say that I won't buy any knives above a certain price point without giving serious thought to how they will fit in relation to what I want my collection to be. In short, don't be so impulsive and quick to give in to the "I want it" syndrome.

Whether or not I succeed at this is anyone's guess, but I'm mildly optimistic.

I hope to finally buy my first custom this year. Looking particularly at a RJ Martin Manta Ray or Mike Snody Explorer or Xcelerator, or something by Tom Krein. This purchase would likely coincide with me buying a handgun and obtaining a CCW permit, which would also allow me to conceal a fixed blade.

In 2007 I won't..

stop learning about knives.
buy crap knives...I don't now, but I want to up the quality another notch.

i just received the 2007 spyderco catalog and gotta restrain myself in a straight-jacket

for 2007, i pledge to not buy spydies that push my buttons, because i know i won't use them anyway and will most likely sell all of them for hard cash, as i always tend to do with non-users

I will buy my first true custom
I will buy less but better quality
I will start making my own Sheaths out of Kydex
