I haven't been able to figure out what wood is on this 1992 112. Also have a 1992 110 that has similar wood.

Appreciate any info.

Looks like a piece of solid obeechee before they started using it as a laminate.
 
That is macasssar ebony, the standard inlay used on 110s and 112s until the obechee laminate was introduced by Buck Knives. Ebony can vary from almost black to a light tan and I think the prettiest pieces have a combination of both the dark and golden hues like this one.

The variance in coloration is much nicer than my pics.

The 110 doesn't have near as much varation.

Now I am off to digging through the box of misc oldies looking for color variations.
 
I have one from 1992 with similar wood scales. It really doesn't look the same as the older scales which has me guessing.
