What would be the Texas Jack of GEC?

66 serpentine jack would be my guess
then maybe as a secondary choice, the outlaw
and then the pony jack i suppose

I'd say either the #66

Or the #68

and....as mentioned above....I think the #76 Outlaw could lay claim....wish I had this one back...

The #76 Outlaw is GEC's version of the TJ, but as usual, they put their own spin on it by putting the pivot at the opposite end
and making it wider and heavier with the pen in front.

Those are very nice knives gents

I got a #66 a few months after a TJ, and I'm afraid I've barely carried the TJ since :(

if GEC would do their #81 frame in a jack, then that would be the most archetypical Texas Jack...that would be a great idea actually.

I consider the #56 Dogleg Jack to be an improved Texas Jack with its serpentine shape, clip point primary and pen secondary blades although I can see the argument for the #66 & #76 as well. Particularly the #76 with the more squared off ends.

lol its pretty, but i wouldnt call it an IMPROVED Texas Jack
look how slender the case is and how stocky the dogleg jack is

different dimension, different style really
still a cool knife though

I really like the TJ, but does it come in any scales other than amber bone in CV?

I have a Case TJ and know its not as as slender. That is the major improvement for me. The 66 is more of a handful than the TJ as well.

Eric H, I have seen some older versions on the market in chestnut and a darker brown (molasses?).

I can't keep up with all these GEC patterns! They're ALL lovely! :D
