I tend to like the single blades the most because they carry easy in the pocket and i never use the second blade.

For single blade GEC I would go:

Charlow of any flavor (Spear, Clip, Sheepfoot)
Hound Tooth (awesome design!)
#72 with Wharncliffe blade

funny you mention those 3 because i have the barlow sheepfoot single already but looking to add a few more. the other two you mentioned was on my list but i want to see what you all thought.

I totally borked it and mentioned blades other than clip...sorry.

While I'd like to suggest a #33, #53 Cuban Pen, #68 White Owl, or #89 for having a clip blade and a secondary blade should you ever need it... the #06, #12, #15, #25, #28, #42, #48, #64, #65, and #72 are the only other single clip blade models GEC has made. Of these, the #48 is my favorite and most carried. The #12 and #72 behind it for most used and carried. The others I haven't carried or used.

I particularly like the #15 single clip blade. It is slim and small. But, it has a very robust blade. I understand why some like the #48, but it tends to flop around in my pockets. The #15 does not.

GEC #48 or #12, whichever handle fits your hand the best. Same muskrat clip blade, but the toothpick is 1/8" longer frame.

My top three single clip blade choices from GEC would be...

1. TC Barlow in any cover material.

2. #48 Single clip point trapper.

3. #55 Houndstooth.

I have yet to own either the #12, or #48, but both are knives I would definitely consider owning. I cannot think of any other GEC models that have a single clip point blade other than the #25 (too small), and the #72 mini lockback (too much blade play for my liking).

While not GEC-specific, this thread-- "The clip point-- simple formula, endless variety"-- shows some of the interesting variations possible among blades labeled "clip," with some photographs you might enjoy while you make your decision-- and maybe prompt you to consider a knife/blade you might not otherwise, once you see it in comparison with others (or confirm whatever leanings you already have ;)).

My single-blade clip point #15 opened my eyes to the goodness of a single-bladed knife (I'm partial to double-bladed jacks as a default), and remains a favorite:

(The barlow version will be hard to obtain at this point in time, but perhaps the Boys Knife iteration can still be found?)

15, 06 and 25 in that order.

I'd go Charlow, Pemberton and I'll have to think on the other...I love my Charlow and Pemberton and use both but the Pemberton gets used the most.

Charlow, whichever blade gets you fired up(spear here),
48,
72 or 73 pattern(ifn ya like lockbacks or slipjoints)
