What would happen if serrations alternated sides?

Curious. Must be sumpin bad as I've never seen one. A serration on one side and then the next would be on the opposite side.
And so forth.

Chris Reeve Knives already has alternating serrations that on the part-serrated Sebenza's. It seems to be more aggressive and they have flat teeth which are easier to sharpen.
 
Sort of like a Vic wood saw grind inside out. It would take grinding both sides of the blade, which is a step more than most factory knives go.

If it could be proven beyond the "sounds good" concept as exhibiting X% better cutting in tests, it would help the serrated concept a lot.
