Had a dream last night that I hit the Lotto and helped sponsor a BFC Blade Show like people have mentioned in the past... It was a huge success and an absolute blast and it got me to thinking: "What would it take to do it?".

What do you guys think?

What would be a good accessible central location with the cheapest air fare?

How much would something like that cost?

How much interest would be generated by Vendors, Makers, and Members and could that offset the cost somewhat?

What are some ideas as far as guest speakers or special features of a show like that?

How long would it take to plan and organize something like that?

Just throw some ideas out there and when I hit that big 'ol Lotto (cause it's inevitable now that I've HAD the dream....

Dream BIG or go home!

Make sure it's in Washington! Although Mike and Spark will have to fly cross country for the show! LOL

Seriously, I think something like this would take at least a year to plan. I'm not sure how much it would cost to put one on, as I have been under the impression that Table Fees pretty much cover the cost of putting on a show. Or were you thinking that it would be free for all makers who were interesting in coming? That would be nice. Any sounds good...but I have no planning experience.

For something like this, you have to be able to rent out the hall where it's held (no small fee, considering the major convention centers), have it centrally located around a major travel hub (like Atlanta), and be able to draw enough people to make it worth while.

Added up, it's a lot of cashola. Not impossible, but pretty pricey.

Well... since BF lives here in the cyber space, maybe the BFC Blade Show should be a virtual one!
