What would USAAF B-17 mechanic have carried in WWII?

What would a US Army Air Force B-17 mechanic have carried in WWII? Would mechanics be issued a knife of some sort?
The serviceman was stationed at Horham England. What sorts of knives would the Brits have had if he were to carry a pocket knife
that was purchased locally? What could I expect to pay for one of these knives these days if I was to find one? Any insight someone can
provide is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

My old man was sergeant in the Army Air Corps--- worked on engines b-17's and b-25's (allisons and wrights)---the only knife he carried was a small boy scout folder looking thing
