if you were not addicted to steel.
i have a penchant for going fast, drag racing and motorcycles.
thats probably where my cash would be going,if i lived long enough,if i wasnt spending it on blades.

Guns, gambling, and G-strings. And cars.

I have an addiction for guitars also.
If you think knives can be expensive, try buying a vintage Les Paul for under $3,000:eek:

Honestly, I'm not sure. My first thought is outdoors equipment, but that addiction goes hand in hand with my knives. Can't imagine being into one without the other.

Aside from that, I'd probably be dumping my cash into a VR gaming setup. I've already got a PC that can handle it with ease, but I never seem to have the cash to get all the VR accessories. Funny how I always seem to find cash for knives though...

Supermotoing, cycling, shooting. All of those hobbies have a high initial starting cost but it's not that bad once you're done with upgrades. I had a hobby that was stupid expensive.... track days for sport bikes. I'm very glad I don't do those anymore.

To speak of foolishness, youthful extravagance and wasted opportunities
Would be to live a life of absolute regret.
We all make mistakes and don't realise
until the past actions starts to come back and haunt the present times of dire need.
So don't think about what if I didn't,
But rejoice at what was done, was somehow done in the spirit of having lived a life with
Accumulating endless possessions of pride and joy
back when you could afford them all.
regrets have been few, far and between where this hobby is concern.
If any thoughts are present now, I would think its time to sell it all off and move on.

MOved again to Gadgets & Gear.

Guns probably. Or parts for my truck, kayaks, fishing gear, the list goes on and on.

Girlfriend, dates, etc. Good thing she doesn't read bladeforums.

Ok all kidding aside she's great and she knew what she was getting into before we started dating. I hope I didn't jinx it.

The order of my addictions:
1 Guns
2 Knives
3 Lights
4 Watches
5 Pens

So, if you take away #2 I'm still left with a black hole to suck the money out of my wallet. My wife couldn't understand it until I put it in terms she could relate to: shoes, purses, clothes, makeup, and salons. Now she gets it. :)

I've canceled all knife pre-orders since I bought my Honda PCX 150 and haven't bought any more since then.

There she is.

Been a real money drain since then(somewhat contradicting the affordability of scooters). $3,000+ in protective gear, +50% dealer markup from MSRP of all OEM parts, $2,000 in security products, , a broken leg, the bill for EMS, and my ER bill.

Yep, definitely more money than I ever spent on knives.

I told you so. ;):D

I'd spend the money on a dinner here, some gear there... Possibly just bank the difference for a rainy day, expensive surprise, or gotta have impulse buy.

Before knives, it was guns and ammo. Then Sandy Hook came and those two interests were temporarily dried up, and I discovered Beckers and SAKs and other good knives.

But if I didn't have an addiction to the above three, I might have a strong fixation on lanterns, and lamp building.

My other hobbies that my hobby budget has to stretch to cover include:

- shaving stuff - double edged safety razors, shaving creams, shaving brushes, etc
- stargazing - telescopes, eyepieces, binoculars
- photography - cameras, tripods
- wood carving - tools, knives, bent knives, exotic woods
- Native American flutes - amazing sound and so easy even I can play them
- Travel - a fun experience that also lets me shop and use my other hobbies
