There is a store near my house that has a Schrade display and about 18 or so UH's and old timers and such...

They are on clearance and they have "no returns" posted...for obvious reasons.

Anyhow here is my question. Should I just go for broke and buy them all? I'm sure that if I do I could get the manager to give me the display board as well. That would be pretty cool hanging in the work shop I think...

What do you guys think?

First be sure they aren't copies of Schrades made in China. Then if they are all U.S. Schrades and you want them all, negotiate best price for the whole display.

Or you could get the price and let me know. I'll buy them. Go for it if they are USA made.

Ya they are all USA made.

I think I'll go talk to the manager tomorrow.

Thanks guys.

Let everyone know how it turns out. Always curious to know what all was in the case and how old the knives are.

Good luck!

SCORE!!!

sorry for the out of focus pic...

These are just a few...more to come later.:D

Question...the middleman Jack has a different box than the others. Does this mean it's older? Younger?

All of them have the box and plastic and papers except the Sharp Finger which is missing the paper....There were cobwebs on the sharp finger...:D

I'm having way to much fun...

Did you get nervous until you were in the car and down the road? During a house cleaning like that, I always felt like I was getting away with something.

Sure did. Felt like a get away!

I don't like safe queens though.....the extras will move on the boards soon...

Most that I see look like they are late production boxes. The blue striped one was a bit earlier, circa 2001. The insert papers sometimes have copyright dates that help. Any box or insert mentioning the Schrade website is post mid 1998 or so. I believe their website launched in June of that year. Hope this helps. Congrats on the score!

RE the Sharpfinger... the latest ones were hollow ground stainless blades.

Oh, and a picture of the display might help to date that via the logos and knife pattern slots as well.

Thanks Codger!

This sharp finger is flat ground. I think it's carbon...

I didn't get the board....yet....I'm still working with the manager to get that. That and I am on a "I got five kids" budget you know....:D
