What would YOU do?

I just got a used Victorinox Swiss Army Knife. Probably an NTSA confiscate. OR...an estate liquidation.
ANYHOW... the knife has a phone number barely legible.
The reverse directory on the number lists the name of a deceased major movie star.
The "MAP IT" on the reverse directory site shows a house about a block from an exclusive country club in southern California.

Now....you KNOW the question.

WOULD YOU?

  :D

If you paid for it it's yours.... if you like it.... keep it.... if you don't maybe research a little bit and sell it.

Send Brad Pitt his knife!

Better yet, send Brad Pitt's knife to me, and I'll hand deliver it to him. Maybe Angelina Jolie will invite me in for tea and crumpets. :D

P.S. I doubt any rich movie star misses his SAK. If you decide to sell it, I wouldn't do it on e-bay. Even though the story is true, it would sound like a scam. Once you've established the provenance, I'll bet you could sell it directly to a professional dealer in celebrity memorabilia. I have no idea what I'm talking about -- just my thoughts.

Edited: Just saw you said "deceased" movie star. I guess Brad Pitt is still alive. So much for my chances of having tea and crumpets with Angelina Jolie.

It should be worth more to the family than anyone else. How much is it worth anyway? Is the number engraved? Is it scratched into the handle?

Lavan...the best & the right thing to do is to stop Trolling here & on the other Forum! We are wise to you Lavan!

Yeah - I bet that's exactly what the family wants - for junky old estate sale items to come back to them. Just keep it or try to sell it. I bet the family doesn't want to see it ever again.

It was a silly question. The first time I have ever asked one. Obviously, the number could be scratched on by ANYONE.

I will trade it for a Kissing Crane stiletto from a different movie star.

:D :D :D

Aw, pogo, ya caught me. Dang. I should know better than to try to fool you. Especially on getting wise.

:D

yea. we know movie stars dont own knives! they have 'people' for that!

I'd just call the phone number and see if anyone answers. In the event they do, tell 'em about the knifeand ask them if they're interested in getting it back. You never know, there may be an interesting story attached to it, as well as the possibility of talking to someone who's somehow connected to a deceased, major movie star. For what it's worth :D

Call the number and then immediately start pitching your script. You only get one shot, so make it good!

"Hello... My name is Lavan and I have a great idea for a movie about a guy who found a knife with a phone number and thought it would be an interesting mystery that would entertain folks but some of them started calling him a "troll" and he forgot how ....serious.... some macho dullards can get on any excuse to act as a forum policeman and.....hello....hello.....anyone there?"

:D :D :D
