What would you EDC?

I just started collecting the classic 110. I have a 110 Alaskan Guide from Cabelas, a 110 with 50/50 blade and walnut slabs I got off Ebay and recently
a 560 also off Ebay.

I know the 560 is discontinued, but it happens to be my favorite of the 3 to carry. The AG is the sharpest of the trio and the 110 with 50/50 edge I just got back from Buck to tighten the pivot pin.

What do you think?

What's a 50/50 blade/edge? I haven't heard that term before.

If it was me, I wouldn't EDC the 560. Buck may or may not be able to repair one of those if you should have issues with it.

One of my 560's I made a user and the side pressure against the blade eventually loosened the blade. Might have been ok as long as cuts were straight down, but when cutting up a deer, that ain't gonna happen.

I sent it to Buck and their solution was to peen the pivot pin. I wasn't too happy but it did tighten it back up some.

Unfortunately it was one of the older thicker ones with the straight vertical hole walls.

just sayin..........

If I didn't own any Custom Shoppe 110's with S30V blade-steel, then I would carry the Alaskan Guide 110....

I don't know what a 50/50 is either... ... If it's cold out, carry a AG 110... But that 560 is a great EDC knife...

I'd edc the 110 but give the 560 as much pocket time as I could for show when heavy use isnt in the forcast.

Sorry, by 50/50 I meant half straight edge and half serrated. Although it's probably more
like 60/40.

I like the lighter weight of the 560 for EDC. Does anyone know of a source for a more permanent fix to the blade wobble other then sending it back to Buck. I mean couldn't I peen the pivot pin myself? or is it more involved?

UGH I hate serrated egdes, mainly because it annoys me when I try to sharpen my knives and I don't need serrations. I may purchase serrated knives sometimes but not in the near future.

i edc aq 560 and loved it!
even edc one with s30v blade talk of great!
sold both to get a gold etch i "needed"
i woule edc the 560..
you can send it to buck as offten as you need
and each time tell them or tape a note to it
that YOU WANT IT BACK
so if they ever je3st want to replace it
well they can but you will still get it back

i have been looking for a beater on evil e to edc again..
have some in the cases also..

ugh .. was going to post picts
but there is a thread on the 560 so look there for some neat picts..

I carried a 110 partially serrated blade for a few years as my EDC. Now i carry a stag AG s30v. The truth is if I wish I had bought a straight edge 110 instead of the partially serrated. I thought it would be the best 110 ever but after awhile the serrations didnt come in as handy as I thought. Now the partial serrations sit in the drawer unless I'm doing some rough work around the house that I dont want to use my AG for. So if it was me I would carry the AG.
