If you were placing an order with Ray, what kind of a design would you have in mind? I'm thinking a 7" or 8" version of his Stout Bowie at 3/16" or 1/4" thickness. You?

I'm partial to this one:

And he just made one of these for me (sorry for the image quality, I don't have it yet)

And he is making one of these (but with Desert Ironwood)

But to answer your question, I just placed an order with Ray for a slimmer bladed stick tang model with bloodwood handle. I'll post pics when it is finished.

I live a couple miles from Ray, and I get to see a lot of his work before it goes out. You can't go wrong. I usually go for smaller blades, but I am really impressed by his larger knives - bowies, choppers, etc.

You're a lucky fella then living so close to him. What's that model? Can you give me some specs on it? What do you use it for?

Thanks much!

These are the ones I have by him, and I love them all. I spoke with Ray yesterday, he isnt taking anymore orders till the middle of the coming year, atleast thats what I was told. Good luck though, you will love anything you get.

I had Ray make this one for my son. He saw Ray's personal carry at Bush Bash I and wanted one like it, with the addition of a thumb ramp. It is his go-to blade any time he is in the woods.

It is 3/16" O1, blade is 4 3/4" long.

Well, if I can ever get him to make something for me, here's what I'd get...:D

Thanks, lambertiana. Looks like a sweet little knife - probably a nicer alternative to a BRKT Bravo 1.

Thanks again.

I say a 10" bowie that ray posted

that thing look sweet

hmmm

go for the combo

get a large bowie or camp knife AND a small bushcraft

matching handles of course

mmm

Ray I love your work!

I like both of the models pictured (Stout Bowie and Explorer). In fact that is a picture of my knives. :)

I have an order in now but my next order will probably be one of Ray's Kepharts or perhaps something like his new bushcrafter.
