ok, Ray Laconico posted a new framelock. I liked it so put in a preorder. Now I see a Deviant Blade knife I've been lusting after that's been dropped in price!

ARGH

Which one would you go with? I'm leaning towards keeping the Laconico order as A. I've already ordered it and want to fulfill my commitement. B. I already have fancy knives.

I'm leaning towards the Deviant as A. It's a very good looking knife with some great damascus and would I really use the Laconico in "hard use"? I have a fixed blade for that...

pics for reference...

I would go with the one on the right, personally. Much more practical looking design, imho. The only thing I would change is the colour of the translucent scale (Maybe orange? Green/Black layers?).

Feel free to back out of the order if you've changed your mind. It will not bother me. I haven't started on the knife yet so it's no problem at all. Thanks!

I'm liking the one on the right - I'm a user of knives, and that one looks like it means business and wants to be used.

I want one of Ray's framelocks bad. I need it to be 4 1/2" closed with a 3 1/2" blade.
Are you listening Ray?:D

I really like the one on the left. I am pretty sure it can handle the same work as the "practical looking" one - so it is all in the owner's head, not knife's fault. And it is very nice. I do not see anything wrong with a knife looking nice - it is a good thing!

Thanks for the feedback everyone, they're both so good and so nice. They'd both probably be relegated to non hard use use and definitely be in the EDC rotation. I'm leaning, and I think have been leaning, the Laconico way the whole time. I love the lines, the simplicity, the steel...

Thanks for the understanding Ray, I don't want to back out but I'm going to PM ya a couple questions and sleep on it! I don't want to leave you hanging at all so I'll let you know asap.

Personally I'd stick with the Laconico. I don't have any experience with Deviant but
own a small number of Ray's knives and they are outstanding in quality and workmanship.

I think you'll be sorry if you pass this one up... it's probably going to be the next big thing ;)

Laconico for the win! They are really both sweet looking knives but I really dig the simplicity and understated look of Ray's knife

Stickin with the Laconico, but the Deviant is still on the list.

Hah-so Many knives, so little time
