What would you like to see Laser Engraved??

Hey fellas, we have a few Laser engravers at our store and do custom designs and such. What would you like to see engraved on a particular knife? I enjoy doing the ZT0350's, great knife, big blade. So let the ideas start rolling in:D
 
Yeah we could do some digi if it gets some good feedback. I will probably leave this thread open for a while, then I'll start working on the most popular choice
 
Ooooooh. This sounds very interesting. If I wanted to buy a ZT from you guys, could it get some custom engraving done before it's sent to me? I'd love to get one done for my son. Initials and DOB or something.
 
I think a cross hatch pattern like what Gibeon meteorites look like after they are cut and etched would look cool. I would say to look to nature and other natural occurring inspiration like the meteorite idea. I would also recommend staying away from anything tacky like flames, tribal and skull motifs as they have been played out ad nauseum and really reminds me of cheap chinese knives. Think organic and I think your gonna hit a couple home runs.

you think flames are tacky but you want a finish that looks like a bunch of scratches? lol

seems like you are just thinking of some repeating pattern? Is that all we are talking about? I was thinking it was open for all types of ideas.

I am open to all types of ideas. Full pattern like the Digi Camo, we did an Urban Camo already, maybe just a single image. I remember someone tell me they would like to see a snake skin pattern, I think that would be cool.

Haha, funny you mention that, one of the guys that works with me said he wants the sexy trucker girl design.
 
When I left the 82nd Abn. Div. many years ago, my platoon presented me with a Bowie knife engraved with parachutist's wings. I always liked the look and they serve as a reminder of that time, 20-plus years ago.

Can you do that?
I'm looking for an excuse to buy my first Kershaw (so, I'd welcome suggestions for a moderately-sized G-10 liner lock).

Yes that is correct. Flames and skulls and tribal have been put on every single thing you can imagine for the last 10 years. Its been very overdone on almost every single tangible good you can think of. And to me that has made it tacky and very cheap looking. The meteorite pattern is a different take on the stonewash look. Its attractive and isnt widely used but when it is its usually on high dollar items like rolex watches. Maybe we just have a different opinion on what tacky and class is.

There's cross hatch, and then there's cross hatch. I hadn't seen images of Gibeon meteorites before reading your post and looking them up.

The Cross Hatching idea is very cool. I was thinking of doing a Diamond Plate pattern:D, I think it would look great and also appeal to quite a few members. What do you think?

Also if you have a personal engraving that you would like, I can do that too. Initials, names, anniversary, etc. Just send me an email for more info.
