You're heading into the bush, for an undetermined length of time. You're taking a few blades, and it's a must that you take some sharpening equipment. In this case, you can only choose TWO items. What would they be?
I'm a newbie, but with what i know so far, i guess i'd take
1) DMT Dia-Sharp 8-Course 2) Shapton GlassStone Waterstone 1000

Your Turn...
P.S. Please dont move this thread...it is "knife related eqquipment" :)

I'd take a small two sided stone. Probably one with a coarse and fine side. And that's all.

There's no sense in taking a Sharpmaker or an EdgePro or something that needs oils and water and all kinds of other stuff. Something small that'll fit in a pocket or a pouch on the sheath is all you'd need. Especially since you can't leave whenever you want and go home to sharpen the knife.

Well, I'd probably just take a fallkniven DC3, and.....I don't really need anything else to sharpen a knife.
If the knife have had a proper sharpening first, that is.:)

Any good med grit stone would do for me. Never let it get fully dull and you won't need more, and the toothy edge from a med stone is what I would want in that situation for sure.
