What would you use your Izula for if you had one...?

For those of us who don't have an Izula yet, but would like to think of all those marvelous tasks we could use it for, have now a thread to dream up all those uses.

For me. I'd shave with it. Seems like a perfect little shaver.

I have a couple of them. One of them just gets plain abused. Here is an example. Yesterday I bought 4 mini-bics. I'm going to grab a coffee at this little country cafe and I see a whole display of mini-bics, with a bunch of orange ones no-less. Can't pass up the opportunity to pick some up because when you are actually looking for mini-bics you can never find the buggers.

Anyhow, all those bics lighters come with that stupid childproof guard on the them which really decreases their ease of sparking. So I grab my abuser izula and with the tip pry off those little metal guards on each lighter. They pop off.

I have to admit, the Izula tip often goes where not knife tip has gone before !!!

haha, that's awesome kgd. I despise child proof lighters as well. Up until recently though I've never carried a knife on me so I've always just dealt with them.

I thought up another use for the Izula once I get one. I'll use it to cut strips of leather so I can make a sheath for my hatchet, 'cause right now it doesn't have one.

I used mine to cut up my t-bone steak last night!

That is awesome. I was kind of envisioning this thread though for those who don't have one, so they can fantasize about all the things they can do with one once the get an Izula.

I have a cat, a persian, full of mats. I'll shave him first...

haha, yeah, I'd definitely make sure the Izula was sharp though so I wasn't shaving with a dull blade. 'Cause that would just be downright dangerous.

If I had an Izula, I'd use it chop sticks up so I can put them together to form a hunting blind/shelter.

I'm planning on getting an Izula for EDC as well. What makes the RC-3 so bad for EDC though, at least in your opinion?

I'm ordering one as soon as my funds all line up, made a thread to drool over all the carry options and angles. I'm so used to stubbier Wharnecliffe-style blades I'm really going to appreciate the new shape a bit, better for random cooking and crafts work.

What type of crafts work you do Alex? I'm relatively new to the great outdoors type of life, besides fishing. :D

So I'll be hunting for the first time this year (deer that is). I was talking with my brother and I want to try my hand at leatherworking. Planning on tanning the hides ourselves. I'm excited to find out how well the Izula (or other RATs) will work for that.

I'd try get away with using it at work! always plenty of boxes, always ties need to be cut...

It's getting hot here though. So, as a necker, i might need to whack some tuff cloth on it... y'know, for sweat. :P

Been getting into more carving, whittling, some knot-work, not to mention a lot of odd projects with my other half's volunteering. Most recently it was "Honey, can you cut me a few hundred pink ribbon strips for this breast cancer fundraiser?"
...Now if I'd done it with a PINK Izula, that'd be fitting.

EDC in my go bag. Probably would go with me deer hunting. All the shaving in this thread got me wondering if I could shave my head with it without lopping off an ear

Let it challenge for space in my EDC rotation with my fictional Spyderco Etched Cricket, fictional Spyderco Manix 2, and Millie.

Tough one there.

haha, yeah, I like the use of the word fictional there too. Until I actually get one in my hands the Izula is fiction. In fact... I'm not sure if it even exists. ;)

I'd use mine to finish setting up me deer hunting spot. My cheap $5 dollar blade busted right in half while I was cutting some branches to use as cover.

Would've never happened if I had an Izula to use.
