What year is this Dragonfly?

Was going through my closet and pulled this Dragonfly out of an old suit pocket. For the life of me, I do not remember owning this.....I think it means I have owned too many Spydercos :D. It's AUS-8 and in near mint condition. So what year was this from?

Hard to narrow it down, they used AUS8 for nearly 10 years. It could be as old as 1996 I'd guess, or as new as 2004 since I don't see a Boye detent.
 
I bought a PE version of that knife at a sporting goods store in 2001-2002. Hope that narrows it down.
 
It's a first gen with the original style "ClipIt" pocket clip but I couldn't tell you the exact year. I've got a PE version like that as a gift from my brother in law probably back in the late 90s.
 
It's actually a second-generation based on blade shape and if I had to guess on the date it would be very late 90s to early 2000s.

Really huh? I guess I've never seen a first gen then, I always assumed they started the gimping on the thumb ramp on the 2nd gen forward. Good to know thanks.

Here's a shot with my old Dfly and my old SE Delica. Is the Delica 1st or 2nd gen? I got this one around 94/95. They've both got the FRN ClipIt.
This shot actually shows my first 3 Spydies - my 1/2 serrated Ladybug, the Dfly and SE Delica, all aquired between 94-99 IIRC.


Here are all three of my Dflies:
 
The delica is a gen 1. I'll see if I can get a picture up showing the differences between the two dragonfly.
 
Not a great picture but it should at least give you an idea until daylight tomorrow.

Thanks for all the info.....just an fyi, the one I posted in the OP does not have the spyder logo on the blade....if that means anything.
