It might seem strange for me to be asking about the Case Rigging or Sailor's Knife (Case pattern #46) over here in the Camillus Forum. But, Camillus had been making the Case Pattern 46 under contract with WR Case off and on for maybe 30 or so years before they closed down. In some ways there's more information on the 46 in NY than there is in PA. The knife was known inhouse as the Camillus No. 5734.
A few months ago I'd believed that the last Case 62146RL's had rolled out Camillus' back door with 2002 tang stamps -- I was happy because I had one of that vintage in my collection. And then I saw a 2003! And so I had my eye out for one of the 2003's -- one that I could call my own.
A couple of days ago I scored a 2004! ...who'da thunk!?
So! Now, I gotta wonder --as I understand it Camillus didn't really CLOSE their doors ...at least the FRONT doors
, until 2007.
Were any Case riggers made after 2004?
...I haven't had this much fun in years!
